My acrylic painting technique is rather demanding, but well worth it! Every painting I do has a minimum of seven (7) layers…most having more! As an abstract artist, I thrive in creating contemporary art work and enjoy painting organic compositions to communicate emotion and the subtle beauty that is found in nature. In order to achieve this, I have found that extensive brushwork, blending, and several layers are necessary to create the depth of color, deep richness, and texture desired to reflect my chosen subject or mood. When I create mixed media art, or a series of original paintings I value spontaneity and improvisation, key elements found everywhere in nature.
I strive to make a variety of original abstract art that reflects my passions, and in doing so, I’ve developed a good system that allows me to be very productive. As an abstract artist specializing in mixed media art and acrylic paintings my compositions tend to be tranquil, yet dramatic; a very delicate balance I’ve spent years developing. With my art, there is no room for shortcuts, for they would only diminish the effect.
Having been in the arts since 1994, my passion for creating original abstract art in the forms of mixed media art, and acrylic paintings has stemmed from my belief in the Abstract Expressionism movement. This movement is where the highest importance is given to the creative process. The journey. And the finished painting – the souvenir!
